Who our programs are for
Our programs are designed for youth and young adults in Hilo, Hawaiʻi, who are eager to learn, grow, and build a successful future. We welcome individuals interested in financial literacy, leadership, resume building, and various career pathways.
Diverse career pathways
We offer specialized pathways including medical (partnered with Hoku's Nurse Aide Training Services), automotive (partnered with Lex Brodies), electrical (partnered with MPI Security), plumbing (partnered with Elite Plumbing), IT (partnered with Protech Services), and beauty (partnered with Huaka Aesthetics and many more).
A typical program experience
A typical Business Youth Academy experience starts with learning about each student’s goals, interests, and future dreams. From there, we help create a pathway that gives them the training, support, tools, and guidance they need to move forward.
Students participate in key learning areas such as leadership, financial literacy, job readiness, interview preparation, life skills, mentorship, and hands-on career training. We also help students with certifications, business planning, licensing, supplies, uniforms, and real-world opportunities.
For example, one student came to us with a dream of starting her own body sculpting business. We helped her complete the proper certifications, register her business license with the State of Hawaiʻi, gather the tools she needed to begin, and provided her with a free space for six months so she could build her business with support. Our goal is to turn a young person’s vision into a real opportunity.
